The service
We’re a referral service. We pass your enquiry, with your permission, to one independent restumper registered with the Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC). We don’t do restumping, reblocking or underpinning, and we aren’t a party to any agreement you make with that restumper.
The restumper’s work
The restumper you’re referred to is responsible for its inspection, quote, work, warranties and compliance with the law. Any agreement for the work is between you and that restumper. We recommend you get a written quote and contract before work starts, and check the restumper’s registration on the BPC’s public register.
In Victoria, restumping and reblocking must be done by a builder registered with the BPC, whatever the value of the work (Consumer Affairs Victoria). Other domestic building work, such as underpinning, needs a registered builder above a value set by law (BPC).
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the Domestic Building Contracts Act 1995 (Vic).
No guarantee of a referral
We try to place every enquiry, but we can’t promise a restumper will be available for your suburb or timeframe. If we can’t place your enquiry, we’ll tell you.
